La Vecindad’s Story: A Mexican Dining Experience in the Heart of Las Vegas

The Secret of Our Success: La Vecindad’s Journey

La Vecindad’s story is one of dedication, community, and a passion for authentic Mexican food. Founded in 2016 by Raúl Martínez and Vanessa Barreat, this family-owned restaurant started as a humble food stand at a Las Vegas swap meet, with just four workers balancing full-time jobs to keep their dream alive. After two years of perseverance, they opened their first location—a lively space decorated in a traditional Mexican style, creating a unique and authentic Mexican dining experience in Las Vegas.

A Mexican Dining Experience with Heart

Originally called “Pico de Gallo,” La Vecindad encountered a challenge with its name, leading to its rebranding in 2020. Inspired by the spirit of a traditional Mexican neighborhood, Raúl and Vanessa renamed the restaurant “La Vecindad” as a tribute to Mexican culture. The restaurant embodies a fun and lively atmosphere that feels like a true celebration of culture, serving authentic Mexican cuisine in a space designed by its founders with passion and dedication.

Our Community, Partners, and Success

From day one, Vanessa’s focus on social media helped La Vecindad gain recognition, leading her to join the Meta Business Leaders Network. The restaurant’s commitment to quality has led to awards like “Best of Las Vegas” and a feature on Food Network’s “Food Paradise.” The delicious, refreshing menu includes tacos, chilaquiles, and more, inviting guests to enjoy traditional Mexican food and traditional Mexican drinks.
